Upcoming Workshop: The Embroidered Print

Five prints of portrait etchings featuring embroidery in different colors and patterns of thread

I'm excited to announce that I'll be teaching a workshop at Remarque Print Workshop this spring! The Embroidered Print: Reimagining Printmaking One Stitch at a Time will take place on April 26, 2025, from 10 AM to 5 PM.

In this hands-on workshop, we will explore how embroidery can be integrated into printmaking, using a variety of stitching techniques to add texture and depth to printed works. Through a series of demos and exercises, participants will be introduced to the basics of embroidery and learn how to plan and execute an embroidered design on paper. We will also discuss ways that embroidery can enhance a print’s composition and narrative power, drawing from examples of other artists’ work, including Lutz’ embroidered print series First Impressions and All in Your Head. Join us for an exploration of fiber-based mark-making, to reimagine traditional printmaking one stitch at a time.

Whether you're a printmaker looking to expand your practice or simply curious about mixing media, this workshop is a space to experiment and push the boundaries of traditional printmaking.

Spots are limited—sign up here to secure yours! I can’t wait to stitch with you.
